The Triad Group of Alda, Neb., is investing $2.1 million in new machinery to boost the capabilities of two of its custom molding companies: Denver Plastics Colorado, of Hudson, Colo., and Triad Fastener LP, of Alda, Neb.

Both companies have a special expertise in the production of internal engine components.

“We are seeing a rising demand from our customers and resurgence of more work coming back into the United States market,” said CEO Russ Merrick, in a news release.

The company said it is adding 10 molding machines that range from 180-400 tons of clamping force, as well as 12 four-axis and 4 six-axis robots. It is also developing more automated assembly lines.

The new machinery will also allow the companies to expand into consumer goods markets, including munitions accessories and cellular devices.

Triad Group operates six companies, three of which are custom molders. They are Denver Plastics Colorado, Denver Plastics Wahoo in Nebraska, and Triad Fastener.

The two Denver Plastics plants have presses ranging up to 2,200 tons. It does horizontal and vertical insert molding, two-shot and two-color molding, and gas-assist molding.

Triad Fastener does product design, prototyping, tooling and molding.
