Snyder Industries Inc. is closing its rotational molding factory in Commerce City, Colo.
Snyder announced the shutdown to employees on Aug. 5, a company spokesman said. About 30 people will lose their jobs, he said.
The plant made proprietary products, not tanks, the spokesman said.
Snyder is owned by Los Angeles-based private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners LP. Leonard Green also owns tank Norwesco. Snyder and Norwesco are major manufacturers of tanks.
Snyder acquired the Commerce City plant in 2012 from Rotonics Manufacturing Inc. Two years earlier, Rotonics has sold its tank molding operations to both Snyder and Norwesco.
Tom O’Connell, Snyder’s CEO and president, did not return telephone calls.
Information was not available on the number of rotomolding machines in Commerce City or what will happen to the equipment.
